About PickMyInternet

PickMyInternet is an independent tool for answering one question: what internet service can I actually get at my address? It's the third site in the PickMy family, alongside PickMyPower (Texas electricity) and PickMyUtility (Ohio energy). Currently covering Texas and Ohio, with more states to come.

Where the data comes from

Every internet provider in the United States must report exactly which locations it serves — with technology and maximum advertised speeds — to the Federal Communications Commission twice a year. That federal coverage database is what powers this site: when you type your address, we match it to a census block (using the Census Bureau's public geocoder) and show every provider reporting residential service there. We refresh our copy whenever the FCC publishes a new vintage.

What the data can and can't tell you

Federal filings are the best coverage data that exists, but they're self-reported and updated twice a year. New construction, recent fiber build-outs, and edge-of-network addresses can differ from the filings. Treat our results as the shortlist to verify — always confirm serviceability with the provider before scheduling anything. Speeds shown are maximum advertised speeds, not guarantees.

What we don't show yet

Prices. Provider pricing changes constantly and is published per-plan by each ISP; we link you to providers to see current offers. We'd rather show no price than a stale one.

How we make money

Two ways, both disclosed: advertising on the site, and — potentially — referral fees if you sign up with a provider after clicking through from here. Referral relationships never affect results, which come solely from the federal coverage data.
